How to open Sony Vegas Movie Studio 8 trial save file with Sony Vegas Movie Studio 6?

I couldn’t find my Vegas Movie Studio 6 disc, so I ended up downloading a trial for Vegas Movie Studio 8. After the trial was up, I found my disc and planned on finishing my editing with Vegas Movie Studio 6, but it can’t open the save file. Is there a way to do this? I really don’t want to start editing all over again.

Sorry, you’re not going to be able to do it – v8 can open v6 project files, but not vice versa. If you can finish editing in time, you could download the trial of the full Vegas product and use that – Vegas can open VMS files. Of course, once you save your project file with Vegas, no version of VMS will be able to open it – make a copy of the .vf file first! The alternative would be to upgrade VMS to version 8.
